Gene A. DiMaria
Retired Chief, Safety and Firearms Branch
Federal Probation and Pretrial Academy (United States)
Retired from the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, I served as the Chief of the Safety and Firearms Branch at the Federal Probation and Pretrial Academy in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, I was responsible for overseeing safety and firearms training for approximately 6,000 officers across 94 Judicial Districts.
My responsibilities included developing and delivering six national training programs, shaping policy, managing equipment and budgeting, designing curricula, and supervising a team of up to 20 staff members. I was also honored to be part of the original team that established the Federal Probation and Pretrial Academy (FLETC) in 2005, playing a key role in its creation and ongoing success.
